The charity “Light Peer Support”, which is based in Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield are advertising for a Peer Support Worker covering the Doncaster area. Doncaster Peer Support Worker
Are you a good listener?
Have you got lived experience of perinatal mental health issues. Or experience of providing peer support to women and their families in the perinatal period?
Do you want to join a growing charity and a team committed to supporting women and families experiencing perinatal mental health problems and enable recovery?
If so then our new Doncaster Peer Support Worker role might be for you. This is a fixed-term contract until 31st October 2022 at 14 hours a week. This is a great opportunity to join a growing charity, develop new skills, meet new people and support a charity that helps parents, mums & their families.
This role involves working with families and running peer support groups across Doncaster/ South Yorkshire. 1 to 1 support with parents. In addition to working with our Doncaster and Rotherham Coordinator to manage our Doncaster and Rotherham Light Support Groups and referrals. As this role is providing peer support, you must have lived experience of perinatal mental health issues/birth trauma. Or the experience of providing peer support to women and their families in the perinatal period will be required. It is important that you feel well enough to be able to offer support to families who are struggling with such feelings now.
